Jesus ,the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world' (John 1:29, 36), died at the same time as the Passover lambs were ritually slaughtered in the Temple - as prefigured by I Corinthians 5:7 that says "For even Christ, our Passover, is sacrificed for us".
