Telecaster Shootout!

This is a comparison video of 6 Telecaster and T-Style guitars from Fender and other makers.

I'm playing 2 phrases on each pickup of each guitar into the same amp and recording exactly what comes out. No processing, no Tube screamers, no chorus pedals - just one guitar, a cable and a Two Rock Classic Reverb with reverb.

The guitars are:

1: A Broadcaster replica Partcaster with Monty's Broadcaster set of pickups
2: A Fender custom shop Nocaster with Seymour Duncan Antiquity neck humbucker and Fender Nocaster bridge pickup
3: A 1955 T-style Partscaster with Seymour Duncan Antiquity neck pickup and Monty's Broadcaster bridge pickup
4: An SC Relics (Golden Era Guitars) '60's style with rosewood fretboard, 3 ply guard and Monty's proto '53 Telecaster pickups
5: A 2017 Fender custom shop Telecaster thinline in Blue Flower with Texas Special neck and Nocaster bridge pickups
6: A Fender custom shop '72 Telecaster custom with Fender CuNiFe humbuckers and Nocaster bridge pickups

I include timestamps so you can jump around and have an immediate idea of any differences.

Maybe there are none? is it all in the mind? Are those humbuckers overpowering?

The Telecaster form I think relies on the big thick body, bolt on neck and most importantly, the bridge plate. Now, the pickup in the bridge plate can be copper or copper plated steel as in the Broadcaster pickups and it can be adjusted by springs or fiddly wee rubber tubes. The plate can be microphonic or not and it certainly acts or is acted upon by the pickups magnetic field but it definitely makes a difference. All these guitars have the bridge plate and if a guitar doesn't have one, it's not a Telecaster in my opinion.

Listen in 1080p for best results.

I recorded my Two Rock amp through a Two Rock 2x12" cabinet with stock speakers and 2 microphones on the lower one: a Rode NT1-A and an SM57. Just off axis and on the edge of the dustcap.

I play 2 phrases per pickup position; some chords and some single note stuff.
