ICYMI: Nancy Pelosi Provoked China 31 Years Ago

Back in September 1991, Congresswoman Nancy Pelosi sparked a major provocation that ended in imprisonment for the head of the CNN office in Beijing. During a trip with a congressional delegation, Pelosi and two other congressmen slipped away from an official escort and visited Tiananmen Square. There, with the TV cameras turned on, banners were raised and flowers were laid in memory of the students who had died during protests two years earlier.
