Kirkorov is accused of “recording the LGBT* anthem.” The State Duma stood up for the artist

Artist Maria Shukshina stated that Philip Kirkorov “recorded the LGBT anthem (an extremist organization banned in the Russian Federation)” and published a video in which the singer performed a song in a duet with Jasmine with the words: “It’s my personal business, what to do with my personal body, and what should I fill my soul with..." Shukshin was outraged by the video that accompanied the performance.

“At this time, there is a video behind the screen with different options: a man with a woman, two men... hugging, etc. Specific propaganda. One of my friends informed me about this with a request to make public the blatant fact of violation of the law banning LGBT* propaganda and not to allow this so-called “hymn to freedom” to spread, since the song went into rotation on the radio,” Shukshina wrote on Telegram.

The State Duma stated that Maria Shukshina is “very harsh” and reminded that the laws of the Russian Federation do not infringe upon citizens, including representatives of non-traditional orientation, if they do not promote their way of life.

🗯 “And I would not consider the text of this song from this point of view, much less call it an LGBT* anthem. <...> There is no need to “pump” society with such negativity, this is already too much,” Elena Drapeko, first deputy chairman of the State Duma Committee on Culture, told NEWS.ru

* - the organization is recognized as extremist and is banned on the territory of the Russian Federation
