Lakewood Church shooting

HPD have released bodycam video from the fatal OIS that took place on February 11th at Joel Osteen’s ‘Lakewood Church’ when a woman armed with a rifle entered with her young son and began shooting.

Officers were standing in the hallway having a casual conversation when shots began to ring out in the building.

The first part of the video, about two minutes in, a Lakewood surveillance camera showed Genesse Moreno exiting her vehicle around 1:53 p.m. on Sunday, wearing a trench coat, and backpack and carrying what officers said was an assault-style rifle underneath.

The agent told Moreno to put down the weapon, but she refused. The TABC agent then fired his weapon again, striking Moreno.
She was pronounced dead at the scene. Her 7-year-old son was also struck during the exchange of gunfire.
