70,000 Witnesses (1932) Mystery Crime Drama Full Movie

70,000 Witnesses 1932 is a classic American pre-Code mystery movie directed by Ralph Murphy, written by Garrett Fort, Robert N. Lee, Allen Rivkin and P.J. Wolfson, and starring Phillips Holmes, Dorothy Jordan, Charlie Ruggles, Johnny Mack Brown, J. Farrell MacDonald, Lew Cody and David Landau.

Buck Buchanan, a player for State's football team, finds himself entangled in a dire situation when his brother, Slip Buchanan, stakes a hefty $350,000 bet on University triumphing over State in the upcoming major game. Slip resorts to coercion, urging Buck to drug their star teammate, Wally Clark, to prevent him from playing. Buck staunchly refuses, but his focus during the game is divided as he fears Slip will devise another scheme to harm Wally.

True to Buck's concerns, just as Wally is on the verge of scoring a crucial touchdown for State, he suddenly collapses at the 5-yard line. Amidst the watchful gaze of 70,000 spectators, Wally is carried off the field and tragically passes away. While a doctor initially attributes the death to accident, police detective Dan McKenna is deeply suspicious of foul play. McKenna takes decisive action, assembling the players and orchestrating a full reenactment of the game, ultimately unraveling the case and bringing justice to light.
