Saudi Arabia's Prince Mohammad Bin Salman has banned iftar gatherings in mosques ahead of Ramadan, which is expected to start on March 11 and end on April 9 this year. The Ministry of Islamic Affairs in Saudi Arabia issued instructions to mosque staff regarding Ramadan. They are not allowed to collect donations for iftar feasts or organize iftar inside mosques due to concerns about cleanliness. Instead, iftar should be organized in mosque courtyards without using temporary structures like tents. Imams and muezzins are responsible for ensuring cleanliness after the feast. The Ministry also discouraged the use of cameras inside mosques, especially during prayers, and prohibited the broadcasting of prayers on any media. Officials are instructed to be present and punctual during Ramadan.
