The Smokehouse Creek Fire has officially become Texas’ largest and most devastating wildfire in history, engulfing over 1.1 million acres of land.

As of Thursday, the unprecedented wildfire has burned through 1,075,000 acres, with only three percent containment, prompting thousands to evacuate their homes.

Ghastly winds, coupled with the raging flames, have charred extensive areas of the Panhandle, resulting in a wildfire that now matches the size of the entire state of Rhode Island.

In a stark contrast, some parts of the Panhandle are experiencing snowfall, creating an eerie scene as snow blankets the scorched earth and deceased livestock, the Daily Mail reported.
