Ottawa County Undersheriff Valerie Weiss is officially retired

Weiss began working with the Ottawa County Sheriff's Office in 1995 as a patrol deputy and over the years spent time in local schools teaching DARE until she was promoted to Undersheriff in 2017. On Wednesday, dispatch sent out her final call over the scanner. Sergeant Eric DeBoer will now become the new Undersheriff.
