Witnesses at Lakewood Church stated they heard multiple shots fired around 1:00pm CST, the start time of the Spanish-language services. Reportedly, congregants "started praying and declaring Jesus' name" after hearing shots.
She had a bomb but it wasn't blown off, with all her guns, she injured a 47 year old man in the leg. Her son got shot during crossfire and was taken to the hospital while she was instantly shot dead on the spot as soon as she pointed her gun towards the police officers.
The 47-year old man was released from the hospital by February 12. The seven-year old was still hospitalized as of February 25, 2024, and a portion of his frontal lobe had to be surgically removed.
