In this part of a two episode podcast series, Peter J. Scott, the IT specialist and futurist, and host of AI and You, interviews Rajiv Malhotra on important issues of the AI debate. Malhotra discusses his latest book, particularly the socio-economic inequity due to AI advances in markets, and makes a strong case for more representation of voices from the non-west, from the consumers and from different impacted groups in the AI debate.

Rajiv Malhotra discusses in this episode the contrasting approaches of biological materialism on one hand and consciousness movements on the other, in light of advances in AI. The Battle for Self, as Malhotra calls it, highlights how newer and more ubiquitous AI and allied technology products are advancing the argument for the reductionist, mechanistic model of man and how the exponents of the consciousness model of man have not yet woken up to this new challenge.
