1 SAMUAL Chapter 6: The Return of the Ark

The Philistines, after suffering from plagues as a punishment for taking the Ark of Yahuah, consult their priests and diviners on how to return it to Israel. They are advised to send it back with a guilt offering of five gold tumors and five gold rats, symbolizing their afflictions. They place the Ark and the offering on a new cart pulled by two cows, which miraculously head straight to Beth-shemesh, a town in Israel. The people rejoice at its return but incur Yahuah's wrath by looking inside the Ark, resulting in casualties. They then send messengers to Kiriath-jearim, asking the inhabitants to take the Ark away
