MY ALGONQUIN PARK NIGHTMARE
I was camping with my friends in Algonquin Provincial Park, Ontario, Canada when we heard a loud roar in the middle of the night. We grabbed our flashlights and went outside to investigate, thinking it might be a bear or a wolf. But what we saw was something else entirely.
It was a huge, hairy creature, standing on two legs, about eight feet tall. It had long arms, a muscular body, and a massive head with dark eyes and a flat nose. It looked like a cross between a gorilla and a human, but much bigger and scarier. It was holding a dead deer in one hand, and it seemed to be eating it.
We were frozen in fear, unable to move or scream. The creature noticed us and turned its head towards us. It stared at us for a few seconds, then let out another roar that shook the ground. It dropped the deer and started to run towards us, moving fast and agile.
We turned around and ran back to our tent, hoping to find some shelter. But the creature was faster than us, and it reached us before we could get inside. It grabbed one of my friends by the leg and lifted him up in the air. He screamed in pain and terror, as the creature bit into his neck and tore off a chunk of flesh.
The rest of us managed to get inside the tent and zip it up. We heard the creature outside, roaring and thrashing. We hoped it would leave us alone, but we knew it was only a matter of time before it would rip the tent apart and get to us. We prayed for help, but no one heard us. We were alone in the woods, with a monster.
That was the last thing I remember, before I blacked out from fear. I don't know how I survived, or what happened to the creature. I only know that I woke up in a hospital bed, with bandages all over my body. The doctors told me I was lucky to be alive, and that they found me and my friends in the park, after someone reported hearing gunshots.
They said they didn't find any trace of the creature, only some large footprints and blood. They said it was probably a hoax, or a prank gone wrong. They said I was suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder, and that I needed therapy. They said I should forget about what I saw, and move on with my life.
But I can't forget. I can't forget the horror of that night, or the face of my friend who died in front of me. I can't forget the creature that attacked us, the creature that no one believes exists. I can't forget the truth, that there is something out there, in the woods, that is not human.
I can't forget Bigfoot.
