Splitting beehives using the Demaree method | Trying something new this year.

This year I am going to try to accomplish two goals by using a swarm control method called the Demaree method. Goal one is to prevent the hives from swarming and goal two is to produce a massive honey harvest. Unlike previous seasons when I split off half of the colony into a separate box; this year I will try to trick the bees into staying put. The more bees in the box, the more nectar collected, the more honey to harvest. Let's hope it all works out.Show more
