The Waitangi Tribunal is NOT a court. It's a tribunal. Big difference. It has no power to overrule parliament. It just makes recommendations. When Maori heard that National was going to scrap the Maori Health Authority, they went running to lawyers to submit a case under urgency to the Waitangi Tribunal. All the legal fees for doing this are paid for by the tax payer. The Waitangi Tribunal must itself be disestablished. It's an activist stronghold and the core of a giant racket. By the way, it's not 'disrespectful' to not consult Maori. Rather it's arrogance on their part to expect to be consulted. None of the other 159 cultures in New Zealand expect personal consultation every time a bill is passed. They simply let Parliament get on with the job they were elected to do. Maori want special attention, special privilege, special funding, special speaking rights, special status. They must wake up and realise that all people are equal in New Zealand.
