Chapter 5: The Ark Among the Philistines
The Philistines take the Ark to Ashdod, placing it in the temple of Dagon. Miraculously, the statue of Dagon falls before the Ark, and the Philistines suffer from tumors and destruction in the city. Realizing the Ark is causing these calamities, they decide to move it from one Philistine city to another, but wherever the Ark goes, people suffer from divine afflictions, leading them to contemplate returning the Ark to Israel.
