A Northern Michigan business finds itself in hot water after deleting emissions controls on semi-truck engines.
Diesel Freak, LLC of Gaylord violated the Clean Air Act by engaging in this aftermarket scheme from 2015 – 2018 and was fined $750,000.
The fine was the largest one related to the case, which resulted in more than $1.8 million in fines.
The company and the individual defendants pleaded guilty to charges of conspiring to violate the Clean Air Act.
