2. Answering the Call to Discipleship

Without a deep commitment to the cause of Christ and love for Him, we can compromise our faith in Christ and obedience to His Word. Jesus beckons us to go beyond being believers to being disciples. Similar to the stages of growth of a vegetable in the plant kingdom, the last and mature stage is for the plant to die to itself to produce seeds that will multiply. In the same way, there are stages of life that people grow through. As people grow in their love for Christ, they move on to become disciples.
