Chapter 2: Hannah's Prayer and Eli's Sons
Hannah offers a prayer of gratitude to Yahuah, exalting His power and justice. The chapter also describes the wickedness of Eli's sons, Hophni and Phinehas, who disrespect Yahuah's offerings and lead sinful lives. Contrarily, Samuel grows in stature and favor with Yahuah and men. A man of Alahim comes to Eli, prophesying that his lineage will be cut off and his sons will die on the same day as punishment for their sins, signifying the rise of a faithful priest who will do according to what is in Yahuah's heart and mind.
