GUEST OVERVIEW: TESS KORTH worked at FCI Dublin for 25 years, starting as a correctional officer in 1997. Her assignments over the 25 years included unit secretary, case manager, reentry affairs coordinator, and unit manager. During those assignments, she had voluntary collateral duties of disciplinary hearing officer, planning section leader which is a crisis management team, Affirmative Employment and Diversity Co Chair and previous program manager and also trained incoming staff and volunteers. I received the Director's National Award for innovative reentry programming developed for females and their children, and was featured in a Bureau of Prisons periodical called, "Here and Now." All the hard work she did, however, and the recognition received for decades meant nothing when she did what she was trained to do. In less than a year, her loyalty to an agency she owed her career to turned on her and taught her a hard lesson. Retaliation is real no matter who you are.
