In scripture, we have two different commandments to read the word of God (I Timothy 4:13) and study the word (II Timothy 2:15). This video will give you some tips and encouragement on how to obey these commandments. Scotty and Hannah will be sharing the ways that they have learned to study over the years and also give some warnings about those who will try to inhibit your growth in the word of God by distracting you with the commentaries and so forth. When learning to study the Bible it is important to have a good basic foundation in scripture by learning the milk of the word before going on to the bigger meat doctrine. If you have not been discipled in the word, pray that God would send you one who disciples to teach you God’s doctrine in a one-on-one setting.
