Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi donned a scuba suit and headed to the bottom of the Arabian Sea to offer peacock feathers to an ancient sunken city. The recently excavated ruins lie just off Beyt Dwarka Island, Gujarat and have been confirmed to be that of Dwarka, a near-mythical city dating back to 1500BC, and said by the Mahabharata to be home to Hindu deity Lord Krishna.

In honor of the recent discovery, Modi dove deep underwater to perform a puja – an offering – with a peacock feather, symbolic of Lord Krishna.

Modi released a video of his underwater adventure on X (built on the site of the ancient sunken city of Twitter), with the caption ‘Dwarka Darshan under the waters...where the spiritual and the historical converge, where every moment was a divine melody echoing Bhagwan Shri Krishna's eternal presence.’
