REALITY of MENTAWAI Tribe Life (Part 1)

In this four-part series, we’re taking you deep into the jungle, to spend five days living with the Mentawai Tribe

The Mentawai people are indigenous to a chain of islands located 150 km off the coast of Sumatra Indonesia, and they’ve been living here in a traditional lifestyle for over 2,000 years.

We’ll be making the long journey into the jungle to meet the tribe on the island of Siberut, which requires a “long boat” ride down the river, and a trek through unforgiving mud.

During our visit, we’ll be learning about the Mentawai traditions and taking part in their daily life…

But we’ll also be digging deeper into the business of visiting the tribe, discussing the struggles the people are facing, and revealing some truths that may surprise you.
