Child of Hagar, Child of Sarah – Galatians 4:21–31

In this brief excerpt from the course, Grace, Not Law: Galatians, Dr. Barber discusses how by faith alone, a sinner becomes a member of Jesus, IN Jesus Christ's own Body. Because of this spiritual resurrection into the Living One, the Seed of Abraham, the Son of Sarah, the Christian is also a Child of Sarah the Free.

Meanwhile, he/she who attempts to be righteous before God by his/her own effort in his/her sinful flesh, is a Child of Hagar the Slave, and is in bondage to the Law that can only enslave, condemn, and destroy.

Have you trusted in Jesus, thus becoming a member of Him, with His righteousness and life and freedom imputed to you? Or are you attempting to please God in the vain effort of your own sinful flesh?
