Paul Murphy - 'Getting To Babylon' [2 versions] + 'I Don't Think I'm Going To Smile Ever Again' [clip]

Back on the nostalgia train again today. I had an idea to go through some of the, what is known these days as deep cuts, from my catalogue. This song dates from 1993. I did cut a [home] studio version of it at some point, fate alone knows where that is though, and it was one that I never did play live, which is maybe a shame, I can hear a band behind me on this one propelling it along. Too late now, but you can't spend today regretting yesterday, you're throwing good time after bad.

Due to failing eyesight, I had to stand so close to the lyric sheet that it threw the sound balance off, but I don't think it's the worst mix ever. Playing it a time meant I could re-nuance the lyrics, see what avenues of the song were hidden by broken street lights.

There's a tiny clip of the first song I ever wrote [as a song, I had lyrics long before], 'I Don't Think I'm Going To Smile Ever Again'. 42 years on the clock has taken the finger intricacies necessary for it away, but it was fun.

Light and peace,
Me
