Photos of German Heavy Cruiser "Prince Eugen" after hit with Atomic Bomb

The Prinz Eugen survived two atomic bomb tests. These tests were part of Operation Crossroads at Bikini Atoll. The ship was only lightly damaged by the blasts. The first test, Test Able, was an air burst, and the second test, Test Baker, was a submerged detonation.
The atomic tests did not sink the Prinz Eugen. The ship survived both atomic bomb tests during Operation Crossroads at Bikini Atoll. However, it was later towed to Kwajalein Atoll, where it capsized and sank in December 1946 due to hull leaks that were not related to the atomic tests. The ship remains partially submerged there to this day.
