Bank Scam: Identity Fraudster Busted in Action

On April 21, 2023, Chamblee police officers responded to a concerning call from Delta Community Credit Union in Chamblee, Georgia.
A man had presented a fake ID belonging to a bank member, attempting to access sensitive account information.
Upon arrival, officers engaged the suspect in a crucial verification process. They asked him to confirm his home address and date of birth, critical information any genuine account holder should know.
However, the suspect's inability to provide these basic details raised red flags.
Officers swiftly took action. The man was arrested on the spot and escorted to the police vehicle.
He was charged with forgery in the first degree, identity fraud using another person's information, forgery of a financial transaction card and transported to DeKalb county jail .
