Featuring my sister @ZjolieGlobal singing the chorus with me, and a haunting rave-y backup vocal that lit our 90s-loving brains up when she channeled it in the studio.

I wrestled with the lyrics for this song.

We knew we wanted a groovy song before the closing ballad on Butterfly Parade, and, considering this was written coming out of the pandemic,
parts of the album deal with death.

So I wanted High Tide to be about Life.
I thought a cool subversion of the
typical promiscuous dance tune
would be to make it about procreative sex and the beauty of the neverending life cycle. 🌊
