Leap year Why do we have an extra day every 4 years

Leap Year, We measure time by the Earths orbit around the sun. It completes one entire orbit in precisely 365 days, 5 hours, 48 minutes and 45 seconds, so to account for that quarter of a day, it's tallied every four years into an extra day. Because February is only 28 days, that's where the extra day was added. If we didn't have leap year every 4 years, time would gradually fall out of alignment with the seasons.
