Book of Job: David ultimately received God's mercy, despite what he had done with Bathsheba and to her husband, Uriah, and the Lord delivered him from his trial. Despite this atrocity committed by David, God restored him only after his heart had become tender and sorrowful because of his offenses. When one has humbled himself before the Lord and has repented honestly and reverently before Him, He will restore the joy which was lost because of the offense. Psalm 30:5 For His anger is but for a moment, His favor is for a lifetime. Weeping may endure for a night, but a shout of joy comes in the morning.
