Joe Biden cancels $4.9 billion in student loan debt for 73,600 borrowers

President Joe Biden has announced another round of student loan debt relief for 73,600 borrowers who qualify for income-driven repayment (IDR) forgiveness or public service loan forgiveness (PSLF). This brings the total loan forgiveness approved by the Biden-Harris Administration to $136.6 billion for more than 3.7 million Americans. The latest debt cancellation is part of the Administration’s efforts to fix the broken student loan system and help borrowers access the relief they deserve.
