In the dark and cosy night hours she woke up
Noises unheard for others pulled her out of bed
She got dressed while scratching her tired head
Then she fixed her hair in a clumsy ponytail

She grabbed a jacket and snuck down the stairs
There she fetched an old broom and walked outside
She looked around at the peaceful night street sighing
Inspected every corner and deep mysterious gateways

She was a girl with an innocent face
Put on earth to sweep (away) words unwanted
Words with intentions that were dropped
And not picked up again, words rejected

That no one dared touching not to get involved
Proclaiming, longing, arguing and loving
Words avoided, overheard and begging
Words that no one picked up to make their own…

Every time she started of by stating to herself:
“Well dear girl, another night open just for you”
And she knew that they would repeat themselves
Though she each time began from a new spot

Hurtful cries, empty whispers and silly threats
They moved her sometimes, she wished could help
But she was just a keeper of words left behind
Giving them care by releasing their meaning
