Singer Beyoncé has made history by being the first Black woman to top Billboard's Hot Country Songs chart with her new song ‘Texas Hold 'Em’.

The achievement comes amidst a history of a relationship, often proven controversial, between the country music genre and Black artists.

The track has also made the singer the second solo female artist, after Taylor Swift, to achieve the feat.

Texas Hold ‘Em was released at the same time as the singer's single 16 Carriages during a surprise announcement at the Super Bowl LVIII on February 11.

The song has since reportedly been streamed 19.2 million times and downloaded 39,000 times in the US.
