Developing Extreme Mental & Physical Grit | Christian Griffith, Extreme Athlete, Run 2 Heal Founder

Christian Griffith is an extreme athlete with extreme grit. As a survivor of child sexual abuse, he has made it his mission to be an advocate for children. In 2018, he ran 3,142 miles across the United States from NY to CA (30 miles a day for 5 months straight) to inspire those who have been abused to break their silence and to raise $1 million to prevent and treat child abuse.

Christian has completed over 100 races of marathon distance or farther, racing over volcanoes, across deserts and through infested swamps all over the world.

He’s earned his 50-mile bib at World's Toughest Mudder on CBS, took a beating on American Ninja Warrior on NBC, and survived Hell as a finisher on THE SELECTION: Special Operations Experiment, on History Channel. He has also successfully completed the Fuego Y Agua 100K Trail Ultramarathon in Nicaragua more times (3) than anyone else in the history of the race.

Christian is spreading the message of treatment for those who have been abused and says it’s the only way out. “Because nobody talks about it, I packaged up my own personal experiences of abuse, airtight and put them on a shelf high up and deep in my brains for over 30 years, just hoping ‘out of sight, out of mind.’” Treatment is the only way out.

Christian says that he wants to prove that your past does not have to be your future. “I’m not proud of who I have been in the past, but through my current relationships, EMDR therapy and a solid dedication to change, I have tuned things around. Am I perfect? Nope. But I will never stop trying.”

He says his experiences have taught him that you can always do more than you think you can and encourages other to never, ever quit. Not even when someone tell you that you are too old, too slow, not strong enough and not keeping up. He says “Go until the wheels fall off..and then you ride the axles. Never quit. Never.”

2021 Earned StrongFirst SFL Instructor Certification
2021 Earned StrongFirst SFG I Instructor Certification, the gold standard for kettlebell strength training.
2021 Completed the Sea 2 Sea noted by Red Bull as one of the top 10 most difficult adventure races.
2018 Finished RUN2HEAL, 3,142 mile run across the United States from NY to CA.
