Surah Ash-Shura is the 42nd surah (chapter) of The Glorious Quran. Name of the surah means The Consultation. It has 53 ayaat (verses) and was revealed in the holy city of Makkah i.e., before Prophet ﷺ migrated to the city of Medina. This surah can be found in juz / paara 25.

Introduction:

This Meccan sûrah takes its name from verse 38 which talks about conducting affairs by mutual consultation as one of the qualities of the true believers. The sûrah emphasizes that Allāh has decreed for Muslims the same religion ordained for all the previous prophets. The believers are commanded to resort to Allāh's judgment if disagreement arises. Allāh's oneness, power, and wisdom are emphasized as the pagans' faith in powerless idols is condemned. Both the end of this sûrah and the beginning of the next stress the fact that the Qurʾān has been revealed by Allāh.
