Ministers have 'complete confidence' in Trident nuclear deterrence

Health Secretary Victoria Atkins has stressed Britain's nuclear deterrence is in order after a Trident missile misfired during a test.

Ms Atkins said the failure was "an anomaly that was event-specific".

The Ministry of Defence has insisted Trident is "safe, secure and effective".
