LYRICS:
Came upon my doorstep
a little man with a lowered head
He asked if I would be so kind:
allow him to give me his life

So I clothed him in a burlap sack,
dirt-black and ripped in half
He kissed my hands as I laughed
and got to breaking to his back

So every night as I beguiled my
guests with glorious excess
I called upon my newest loathsome slave
to entertain them

He'd lick the floor and run on fours
if I demanded
Of all the servants of my house,
he was the lowest there had been

I rose, shiny and gold
to angels' arms as they were told
to bathe me head to toe in
golden honey, poured atop me,
as from a rusted gas can
slopped waste upon my servant's head
And so they said, "Our work's been done
Now clean each other with your tongues"

So as the days went by and that
little servant served his purpose
I observed etched on his face
repugnant nervousness and

though that meek wretch never met my eyes,
one night he dared to spite me
Awoke his voice at dinnertime,
recounting defiantly his dream

I listened to it all and said,
"It must be so,
that such a sorry epiphany could give one
such as yourself so much hope

For even in your fantasy,
in death you still serve me
Your only place in heaven's
as my punishment, you see"

I rose, shiny and gold
to angels' arms as they were told
to bathe me head to toe in
golden honey, poured atop me,
as from a rusted gas can
slopped waste upon my servant's head
And so they said, "Our work's been done
Now clean each other with your tongues"
