On Thursday, August 20 at 7:00 PM ET IHN hosted a 1-hour webinar, where Brett Hawes shared the root causes that drive leaky gut and autoimmune disease. Autoimmune disease is a collective term that includes over 120 known health conditions. While specific autoimmune diseases differ from one another, they all involve multiple symptoms orbiting around common root causes. Doctors usually rely on a handful of standard drug therapies geared toward symptom management with little focus on getting to the root cause. One of the main root causes of autoimmune disease is leaky gut. The presentation explained what leaky gut actually is, accurate detection methods, what causes it and how it is involved with autoimmune disease. Targeted dietary, lifestyle and supplement interventions that heal the gut, normalize the immune response and drastically reduce flare-ups was taught.
