Prince William has staged an intervention in the Israel-Hamas war.

The royal called for an end to the fighting in Gaza where he says; “too many have been killed.”

An intervention of this kind is seen as incredibly rare as members of the Royal Family are typically expected to stay neutral on political and diplomatically sensitive issues.

The heir to the British throne said it was critical that aid got through to those sheltering in Gaza, and urged Hamas to release the hostages.

It follows a visit by the Prince to the British Red Cross headquarters in London on Tuesday to hear about the work they are doing to support people affected by war in the Middle East.
