McMurdo Station is an American Antarctic research station on the southern tip of Ross Island, which is in the New Zealand–claimed Ross Dependency on the shore of McMurdo Sound in Antarctica. It is operated by the United States through the United States Antarctic Program, a branch of the National Science Foundation.

The station is the largest community in Antarctica, capable of supporting up to 1,500 residents, and serves as one of three year-round United States Antarctic science facilities.

In January, 2015, a US Navy Flight Engineer, a veteran
of 14 years at the station, sent information to UFO investigator
Linda Moulton Howe about his experiences.

He told her that his information covered the years from
1983 until his retirement in 1997.

He related was that he and other airmen
on various rescue missions had seen silver objects
moving at will in the sky.

This happened many times.

On one medical emergency mission they saw
a large round object in the ice. It had
an entrance to a cave in the center.

As they approached, they had a lot of
anomalies with their plane.

Soon after the mission, they are confronted
by what they assume were men from Washington.

They were told to never fly back over the area
again, and never to speak of their experience.

This type of report goes back to Admiral Byrd.
In 1947, he claimed to have seen a similar hole in the ice.

He followed it and claims to have seen a whole
new world of alien structures. These statements
were made publicly.

When he arrived back in the US, he was warned to
not discuss his experience with anyone.
