Opening Statements | Day 2 Truro | National Citizens Inquiry

Ches Crosbie, introduces himself as a commission administrator for the National Citizens Inquiry. He notes that no government in Canada has held independent hearings into their response to the COVID-19 pandemic, and that the Inquiry aims to investigate the response and learn lessons for the future. Crosbie questions whether government responses were based on the best possible evidence, whether some countermeasures were counterproductive, and whether government actions were based on unspoken agendas for profit, power, and control. He highlights the pain caused by the pandemic and the measures taken to combat it, including loneliness, despair, and addiction caused by lockdowns and isolation methods, and the unprecedented levels of injury and death caused by vaccines which did not fit the traditional definition of vaccines. Crosbie emphasizes that the inquiry is citizen-funded and independent of any government influence, and invites politicians, public health officials, and other leaders to appear and give evidence. He notes that the witnesses who have come forward to the inquiry have done so to give voice to a perspective which has been ignored and suppressed in the government-sponsored narrative enforced by mainstream media.
