July tenth, 2023, after waiting, in the best possible conditions, for the eruption to begin, on a top of a nearby mountain, the Litli Hrútur eruption began.

This was truly, as events are unfolding, probably the last so called tourist eruption we have witnessed, since the eruption in Fagradalsfjall, March 19th, 2021.
