Raymond Pages is quietly pumping out remarkably good blends - the best young cigar maker we've seen in years. Raymond took over the Buena Vista brand last year and what he's created is a sight to behold. The gorgeous Habano wrappers are a lovely shade of medium to dark brown with ample oils and tooth. Nice draw with slight resistance, this slow-burning smoke has a perfect burn line, wonderful aroma and a thick, chonky white ash that holds like a champ. Buena Vista brings a nice cedary component, subtle pepper and that typical Raymond spice that I can't get enough of. But it also has an underlying sweetness that takes it up a notch in the complexity department. Strength is medium if not medium-full. Spend some time with this one, all its flavors are bright and pronounced which make for an interesting and highly enjoyable smoke.

Our staff of cigar nuts compares Buena Vista favorably to CAO Pilon, Espinosa Laranja, and Romeo Y Julieta 1875 Nicaragua in terms of cost and flavor profile.
