Gaming in Trouble? Xbox Exclusives Dead and PlayStation Quits 2024!

Microsoft Xbox is moving away from exclusive games on their platform and releasing 4 titles this year as a sign of things to come. Phil Spencer confirmed on the 15th that the long term strategy for the once mighty brand is to move into being a service based company and less about hardware. It was a confirmation of the leaks from awhile back and serves as a reminder how quickly a juggernaut can fall.

PlayStation, seeing that opportunity to crush the competition, did the most Sony thing possible by announcing they aren't going to be releasing ANY new first party releases through the fiscal 2024 year. That means the PS5 will be without a God of War: Ragnarok or Marvel's Spider-Man 2 equivalent until May 2025 at the earliest.

What happened to console gaming?
