Nike will lay off 2% of its workforce - 1,500 jobs - with most from Oregon HQ

Nike will cut about 2 percent of its total workforce, or more than 1,600 jobs, as the sportswear giant seeks to lower expenses as demand for its shoes and sneakers comes under pressure. President and CEO John Donahoe announced the cuts in a memo late Thursday, saying the first rounds of layoffs would begin on Friday at the company's Beaverton, Oregon headquarters. #nike #economy #news
