Text: 1 Corinthians 2
Objective: that the brethren may use speech the way God intended it to, be effective communicators of the Word of God
Intro:
Define – mere, rhetoric, speech

Great Speech we should use:
1. Not Mere Excellent Speech–v.1
2. Also intend to Learn from the Conversation – v.2 – “determined… to know”
a. ‘with you’ – v.3
3. Not Mere Enticing – v.4
4. Not Mere Wisdom – vv.4, 5
a. Not from Man, and this world only
b. But Demonstrate the Power of the Spirit
5. Not Merely for General Education – v.6 ‘among them that are perfect’
6. Not Mere Knowledge – common - v.7 – ‘hidden wisdom’, mystery
a. Not known to those that ‘want’ it – v.8 – princes
b. V.9 – not seen, heard…
7. Not Mere Sources - Stems from God and the Spirit – v. 10 – it’s that deep
a. From the Mind of Christ – v.16

Message/conclusion:

Let us use speech the way God intended it to
Be effective communicators of the Word of God
