Farmers Halt 'Delhi Chalo' March as Centre Proposes 5-Year Agricultural Plan

The Centre has proposed a comprehensive five-year plan to farmers, leading to the temporary halt of the 'Delhi Chalo' march. The plan includes purchasing pulses, maize, and cotton at minimum support prices for the next five years. Cooperative societies like NCCF and NAFED will engage with farmers to ensure stability. The Cotton Corporation of India will procure cotton at MSP through legal agreements to protect Punjab's agriculture and enhance groundwater levels. The farmers, who have been protesting for various demands, will deliberate on the proposal over the next two days before deciding on the continuation of their march.
