Fantastic 4 Announcement Proves Disney Marvel is Doomed in 2025

Marvel laid out their plans for Phase 5 and 6, hoping to correct course and salvage what remains of the MCU. While 2024 is going to be a sparse release schedule, 2025 is shaping up to be all systems go.

The Fantastic 4 casting that had been rumored for months has been confirmed. Pedro Pascal is Reed Richards/Mr. Fantastic, Vanessa Kirby is Sue Storm/The Invisible Woman, Joseph Quinn as Johnny Blaze/The Human Torch and Ebon Moss-Bachrach as Ben Grimm/The Thing. The film drops July 25th, 2025, the same month as James Gunn's rebooted DCU releases it's maiden voyage in Superman: Legacy. The Fantastic 4 is also the 3rd in 4 planned releases from Marvel. Captain America: Brave New World, Thunderbolts and Blade round out the rest of the year, and it's apparently all supposed to lead up to the next Avengers movie, The Kang Dynasty. How that is all going to work remains to be seen, but Deadpool and Wolverine are supposed to set the stage for all these parts to fall into place.

But these moves reek of desperation and the sign of a studio in decline. It's too little, too late. They squandered all their good will over the past few years and by hiring and allowing the people that put you in the place to fail upwards to larger products, don't be surprised if the Superhero trend officially meets its demise in 2025.
