Walt Disney was an American entrepreneur, animator, voice actor and film producer. He is best known for creating iconic characters such as Mickey Mouse and establishing The Walt Disney Company, one of the most famous and successful entertainment companies in the world.

Walter Elias Disney was born on December 5, 1901, in Chicago, Illinois. He showed an early interest in art and drawing and began his career as a commercial illustrator. In 1923, he co-founded The Walt Disney Company with his brother Roy, and together they produced a series of successful animated shorts.

Disney's first full-length animated feature film, "Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs," was released in 1937 and was a major success. He continued to produce many more beloved films, including "Pinocchio," "Cinderella," and "The Lion King."

In addition to his work in animation, Disney also ventured into television and theme park industries. Disneyland, the first-ever theme park created by Disney, opened in 1955 in California and became a major tourist attraction.

Walt Disney passed away on December 15, 1966, but his legacy continues to live on through the timeless characters and stories he created, as well as the success of The Walt Disney Company, which is now a global entertainment empire.
