"Son Going Down" is an original song written by Bobby Keel, of The Ballistic Pintos. He is a well-known singer/songwriter from Clarksville, TN, with many achievements. It has been a privilege of the producers of PoPaBiLLy MuZic to receive the honor of creating this music video interpretation of one of his songs that is a particular favorite! Thank you Bobby! It was our pleasure putting all the puzzle pieces together to tell your song's story in images!

With the existential crisis of illegal street recreational drugs flooding across our borders, the threat and sickness of addiction is more surreal now, more than ever. The devastating wake of illicit drug use and addiction on the lives of those surrounding those who are afflicted, are catastrophic. Aside from the original threat and risks of recreational drug use, there are now new levels of peril. Such as "substitutions", "dilutions", "contaminations", and "adulterations". The result? Instant morbidity, and/or mortality. Non-sanctioned/non-medical/non-prescribed use of these controlled substances is considered drug abuse. They are likely to create physical or psychological dependency, chronic irreversible illness/symptoms, and/or death. According to the drug statistics website, people aged 12 years and older, have used illicit drugs. Drug use is highest among persons between the ages of 18-25. There have been approximately one million overdose deaths since 2000, and over 96,000 deaths in 2024 alone. The fact that this song was written in the summer of '82, and received BMI clearance on October the 22nd in 1984, and is still applicable to the American story today, is shocking and should heighten the concern of every single member of our communities!

This song, written by Bobby Keel of Clarksville, TN, and who performs with The Ballistic Pintos, tells a heavy-hearted story. Of a father, who has been given no other choice, but to sit and watch his only begotten be overcome by the seething spiral of drug addiction, having to realize the loss of all hope. This song's presentation admonishes the realistic sense of the old man's fear of loss, and inability to maintain his grip, while his son clings to, "the monkey on his back". Philip Adams considers Bobby a good friend, and deeply respects Bobby's gifts, talents, and contributions to music. It was exciting to learn Bobby was interested in a PoPaBiLLy MuZic music video rendering of his timeless and tragic tune, "Watching His Son Going Down", or also known as, "Son Going Down". Thank you again Bobby! This song has been one of Philip's favorites for over 28 years, and is an emotional sobering reminder to be watchful and diligent.
